First Aid Courses

Mi-Time offers regular First Aid courses (awarding organisation A.I.D. Training and Operations Ltd), incl. official EFAW (1-day Emergency First Aid at Work), FAW (3-day First Aid at Work) and shorter tailored sessions.

Short courses include:
- The use of the AED (defibrillator) that is available in the Cottenham Community Centre.
- Practical session (scenario play) for those with a valid First Aid certificate, wanting to keep their skills sharp.

Miranda de Vries (First Aid Instructor) is also available to organise sessions at your venue.

Traditionally First Aid courses are organised to meet First Aid requirements in the workplace, as is reflected in the name of the official courses.

When a loved one is involved in a medical emergency this often is the first time somebody wishes he/she would know more about First Aid. Don’t leave it till then! In England the average response time for life threatening emergencies (999) is 8 minutes.
A lot can happen in that time and knowing what to do until help arrives can make a huge difference. First Aid training helps you prepare for this.

The official maximum class size for EFAW and FAW courses is 12 participants. However, Mi-Time and the Cottenham Community Centre have limited this to 6 participants for its on-site courses. This ensures a more personal approach and enables Miranda to tailor each session to your specific needs, situation and interests.

To meet CPR requirements, participants need to be able to kneel on the floor. Mi-Time First Aid certificates without CPR are available, making training accessible to everybody.

Both the EFAW (1 day course) and FAW (3 day course) cover the same subjects. In most cases (outside the workplace) the EFAW is enough, unless you prefer more time to practise and get a more In-depth knowledge.

The courses include CPR, wound dressing and First Aid Manual. Use of defibrillator is available on request.

Basic First Aid, incl Defib costs £25 per person
EFAW costs £75 per person. (assessment during the day).
FAW costs £200 per person (incl. official exam).
Other prices on request. Group rates available.
